Behrang Ati
Artist
Behrang Ati was born in Malistan, Ghazni, in the late 90s and moved to Herat, Afghanistan, at the age of nine. There, he discovered his passion for art during a drawing class, leading him to develop his skills in realism. After graduating high school in 2017, he opened his own studio and began teaching painting.
However, a transformative visit to Kabul and exposure to artists like Latif Eshraq and Mohsin Tasha shifted his perspective. Inspired by their work, Behrang stopped teaching to focus on his own artistic journey, embracing expressionism and exploring themes like sorrow, depression, and anxiety.
After the political change in Afghanistan, Behrang was evacuated to Frankfurt in 2023, where he continues to create using materials like metal pen, ink, watercolor, and oil on canvas. Influenced by masters such as van Gogh, Picasso, and Rothko, his works are known for their emotive depth and unique style.
Behrang’s art is now featured in our online exhibition at Namad Gallery's Artsy page, where his compelling narratives invite art lovers worldwide to connect with his experiences and reflections.
